Botox Basics
Botox is a cosmetic injectable that relaxes targeted facial muscles to reduce wrinkles and fine lines caused by repetitive facial movement. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to specific muscles — preventing new wrinkle formation and creating a smoother, refreshed appearance. At ICT Tox in Wichita, all Botox treatments are performed by Paige Johnston, RN, a licensed registered nurse with over 11 years of medical experience.
Botox effectively treats a wide range of areas, including:
Discomfort is minimal. The injections use a very fine needle, and most clients describe the feeling as small pinches lasting only a few seconds. Paige's clients — many of whom are first-timers — consistently note how much more comfortable the experience is than they expected. Read our real client reviews to hear it in their own words.
No — and this is one of the most common concerns we hear. When administered by an experienced RN injector, Botox provides smooth, natural movement and softens wrinkles without a "frozen" look. Paige's entire philosophy is built around enhancing your natural features, not masking them. You'll look refreshed and rested, never overdone.
Most Botox treatments take about 10–20 minutes, making it a genuinely easy lunchtime procedure. Including your consultation and paperwork, plan for about 30–45 minutes for your first visit. Return appointments are even quicker.
A lip flip uses precise Botox placement above the upper lip to relax the orbicularis oris muscle, allowing the lip to gently roll outward for a subtly fuller, more defined appearance — without adding filler. It's one of the most popular treatments at ICT Tox, especially for clients who want a natural enhancement without volume.
Yes. Botox is FDA-approved as a treatment to reduce chronic migraine frequency and severity. This requires a different protocol than cosmetic treatment. Ask Paige during your consultation if therapeutic Botox may be right for you.
Yes — masseter Botox is one of our most transformative treatments. Injecting Botox into the masseter muscles reduces teeth grinding, jaw tension, and TMJ discomfort, while simultaneously slimming and defining the lower face. Many clients notice both functional relief and a more sculpted jawline within 2–4 weeks.
Cost & Units
Average Botox pricing in Wichita runs $13–$14 per unit. At ICT Tox, we've intentionally kept overhead low so we can pass the savings directly to you.
$11
Per unit at ICT Tox — Wichita's best value Botox
Some of the most affordable Botox pricing in Wichita, with no compromise on quality, safety, or results. Even lower during specials and with referrals.
The number of units varies based on muscle strength, facial anatomy, and your personal goals. Paige will always assess your movement and discuss a recommended plan with you — including the expected unit count and total cost — before any injections begin. You are always in control of your treatment and budget.
All three are FDA-approved neuromodulators that produce similar results by temporarily relaxing facial muscles. The differences are mostly in formulation, onset speed, and unit dosing. At ICT Tox, we use Botox exclusively — Paige has chosen to specialize in one product to deliver consistently excellent, predictable results for every client.

Results & Aftercare
Results generally last 3–4 months. Longevity varies based on your metabolism, activity level, and treatment history. With consistent treatments, many clients find their results last longer over time as the targeted muscles become conditioned to relaxing.
Most clients begin to see improvement within 3–5 days, with full results visible at the 2-week mark. This is also why we schedule any touch-up appointments at two weeks — to assess your settled results and fine-tune if needed.
Little to none. You can resume normal activities immediately after your appointment. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours and rubbing or massaging treated areas. Some clients experience minor redness or small bumps at injection sites — these resolve within 15–30 minutes.
For best results, avoid:
- Rubbing or massaging treated areas
- Lying face-down for 4 hours post-treatment
- Strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Facials or facial massages for 48 hours
- Excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs) for 24 hours
To minimize bruising, avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications (such as ibuprofen or aspirin) for 24–48 hours before treatment — if medically safe for you. Arrive with a clean face if possible. Come with your goals in mind — Paige will discuss everything before beginning.
No — this is a common myth. When Botox wears off, muscle movement simply returns to its previous baseline. Your wrinkles will not worsen or look more severe than before treatment.
Yes to both. You can apply makeup gently after about two hours. When washing your face, use gentle motions and avoid exfoliating or massaging the treated areas for at least 24–48 hours.
Paige schedules a follow-up around two weeks after your initial treatment to assess your fully settled results and fine-tune if necessary. This two-week check-in is standard practice and ensures you achieve your ideal outcome.
Schedule your Botox session at least two weeks before your event to allow results to fully settle. This gives time for any minor touch-ups if needed. Book online to lock in your spot.
Most clients return every 3–4 months to maintain smooth, consistent results. Regular maintenance treatments often allow for slightly lower unit counts over time, as treated muscles gradually become conditioned.
Treatment Areas
Yes. Strategic Botox placement can create a subtle, natural brow lift — opening and brightening the eyes without surgery. This is a highly requested treatment that Paige customizes based on your individual brow shape and anatomy.
Yes. Neck band Botox relaxes the vertical platysmal bands that become prominent with age, creating a smoother, more lifted neck appearance. Combined with masseter Botox, it can meaningfully define and refine the lower face without any surgery or filler.
Yes. Botox for hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) is one of the most effective and long-lasting solutions available — with results typically lasting 6–12 months. Paige temporarily blocks sweat gland activity in the treated area, dramatically reducing sweating without systemic side effects.
Yes — Botox and fillers are complementary treatments. Botox relaxes dynamic wrinkles (caused by muscle movement), while fillers restore lost volume. Together they provide a balanced, comprehensive rejuvenation. Note that ICT Tox specializes in Botox treatments; Paige can advise on whether a referral for fillers would complement your treatment plan.
Safety & Candidacy
Yes. Botox has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use for decades and has an extensive safety record when performed by a licensed, trained professional. Paige Johnston's background in pre-operative and PACU nursing — plus specialized training under a vascular surgeon — means your safety is backed by deep clinical experience, not just aesthetic training.
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for individuals with certain neurological conditions. Paige will thoroughly review your medical history before any treatment to ensure you're a safe and appropriate candidate.
Yes — every treatment at ICT Tox is performed personally by Paige Johnston, RN. You will never be seen by an unlicensed or minimally trained injector. Paige holds an active Kansas RN license and brings over 11 years of clinical medical experience to every appointment.
First-timers are some of Paige's favorite clients. She specializes in subtle, natural enhancements and will guide you through every step — explaining what she's doing, how many units she's using, and what to expect — before and after your appointment. Men & Preventative Botox
Absolutely — "Brotox" is one of the fastest-growing segments in aesthetics. Men in Wichita are increasingly turning to Botox to look refreshed and confident without downtime or any obvious signs of treatment. Paige approaches male aesthetics with specific attention to preserving masculine features while achieving a natural result.
Yes. Preventative Botox is one of the smartest investments in long-term skin health. By relaxing the muscles responsible for repetitive expressions before deep lines form, you can significantly slow the development of permanent wrinkles. Consistent preventative treatment keeps skin smoother for longer.
Preventative Botox is most commonly started in the late 20s to early 30s when fine lines first appear at rest. That said, Botox is effective and beneficial at any age. The best time to start is when you first notice lines that bother you — earlier treatment means less correction needed later.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses a device with fine needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering your body's natural healing response and stimulating collagen and elastin production. It effectively reduces acne scars, fine lines, large pores, stretch marks, and uneven skin texture — with lasting, cumulative results.
Yes. Adding PRP (platelet-rich plasma, sometimes called "liquid gold") to microneedling enhances the healing response, boosts collagen production, and accelerates overall results for firmer, smoother, more radiant skin. Ask Paige if PRP is right for your skin goals.
Mild redness — similar to a light sunburn — is normal and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Most clients resume normal activities within a day, and makeup can generally be worn the next day. Avoid direct sun exposure and harsh skincare products for 48–72 hours post-treatment.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels use a carefully selected acid solution to exfoliate the outermost layers of skin, stimulating cell turnover and revealing a smoother, brighter, more even complexion underneath. They effectively address dark spots, sun damage, acne, fine lines, and dull texture.
Recovery depends on peel depth. Light peels may cause mild flaking for 2–3 days with minimal downtime. Medium peels involve more visible peeling over 4–7 days. Paige will recommend the appropriate peel strength based on your skin type, concerns, and schedule.
Yes. Chemical peels pair beautifully with Botox and microneedling for comprehensive skin rejuvenation — addressing both surface texture and dynamic wrinkles in a single treatment plan.
Vitamin & Wellness Injections
Vitamin B12 injections deliver this essential vitamin directly into the muscle, bypassing the digestive system for immediate absorption. Benefits include increased energy, improved metabolism, better mood and focus, and enhanced immune function. Results are typically felt within 24–72 hours — far faster than oral supplements.
Vitamin D injections support bone health, immune function, mood regulation, and overall wellness. They're especially beneficial for those with documented deficiency, limited sun exposure (particularly relevant in Kansas winters), or difficulty absorbing Vitamin D through supplements.
Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant — produced naturally but depleted by stress, aging, and toxin exposure. Injectable glutathione helps detoxify the body, brighten and even skin tone, support liver health, and promote an overall radiant complexion. It's one of Wichita's fastest-growing wellness treatments.
